While living in Saigon in 2019 I was taken to visit the Thien An Shelter for Senior Women. The home is run by a group of Catholic nuns, sheltering women who either do not have families to care for them or have been abandoned by their families. I enjoyed meeting the residents and hearing their stories. They seemed to enjoy my visits so I returned a number of times over the next 14 months, continuing to get to know them and photograph their daily activities. The hope is to return for a final visit before publishing a book about the home and the life stories of some of its residents.
